DeCentralised Finance or DeFi is a shorthand for peer to peer public blockchain based financial services. While this sector has seen exponential growth from a low base in the last two years, skepticism abounds. On one hand Silicon Valley VCs such as Andressen and Draper have raised 500+ million dollar VC funds for the defi sector, to most experts in banking DeFi doesn’t “make sense”.
